Clay, Western and Notre Dame met at the Elks Tuesday afternoon in an SOC I Preview match.
The low score of 45 was split four ways between Clay’s Zach Jackson, Isac Moore, Jacob Crosier and Western’s Chandler Grooms.
The low scorer for Notre Dame was Michael Medley with a 46.
Clay had the best team score with 181 followed by Western with 197 and Notre Dame with 221. Eastern did not compete in the match while South Webster sent two golfers that did not qualify for team finishes.
The teams will meet again for an SOC I match at the Elks Monday.
VOLLEYBALL
Waverly def. West 25-3, 25-15, 25-9
Waverly traveled to West Tuesday evening and won in three games.
The Lady Tigers put together a team effort with multiple contributors. Ashley Burton had seven kills, Kayla Risse had 10 digs, Hannah Martin had five kills and two aces, Bri Wiget had 24 points, three aces, 11 kills and four digs.
Kelsey Mays had four kills for Waverly and also had four digs. Lindsey Ward chipped in with three kills while teammate Sarah Bond was 5 for 5 in serves received. Lauren Streitenberger had three kills and four digs while Brooklyn New was 5 for 5 passing.
Kala Hall had seven kills, 28 assists and five digs. Whitney Leffler had two digs, one ace and was 5 for 5 passing while Andrea Moore was 5 for 5 passing and Ally Ford had four kills.
Waverly’s record improves to 6-1 overall.

Eastern def. Clay 25-13, 25-8, 25-8
Eastern hosted Clay and won in three sets Tuesday evening.
Eastern’s Chandler Brown had five aces and seven kills while teammate Miranda Clark had 13 kills. Rhyanna day had 15 digs for the Lady Eagles while teammate Brittany Mounts had five aces and 24 assists.
Casey Howard had seven kills for Eastern.
Eastern moves to 4-0 on the season.

Wheelersburg def. Valley 23-25, 25-18, 25-13, 25-21
Wheelersburg and Valley faced off Tuesday and ‘Burg came away winners in four sets.
Maggie Stegeman had 17 kills for the Lady Pirates while teammate Hannah Duckworth had 27 assists.
Wheelersburg improves to 2-1.

Northwest def. Oak Hill 25-16, 25-13, 25-23
Northwest made the trip to Oak Hill and came home winners in three sets Tuesday evening.
Kalyn Mitchell had 19 points and 13 assists for the Lady Mohawks while teammate Haleigh Vastine had nine points and 10 kills.
Megan Lynn had 47 good sets and five points while teammate Melanie Smalley had six points and two kills.
Mandy Kidder added nine digs for Northwest while teammate Paige Simon had six kills.
Darby Jenkins had three kills and three blocks while Rachel Jenkins had six kills and two blocks for the Lady Mohawks.
Nortwest moves to 2-2 and will travel to Minford Thursday.

South Webster def. Minford 25-19, 25-6, 25-9
Haylee Murphy’s 23 assists and seven digs helped South Webster improve to 3-1 overall and 3-0 in the SOC II with a three-set sweep over Minford.
Mariah Sullivan had 11 kills while Katie Hanes recorded five aces, four kills and three digs. The Jeeps travel Thursday to Wheelersburg.

SOCCER
Wheelersburg 4, West 0
Keith Thurmer, Zach Russell and Mark Butler each recorded a goal and an assist as visiting Wheelersburg defeated West 4-0.
Alex Dalton pitched his second shutout of the season with six saves in the victory for the Pirates. Wheelersburg returns home Thursday with a 7 p.m. kickoff against South Webster.
Austin Wetzel stopped eight shots for the Senators. West takes on Chesapeakee Thursday.

Valley and South Webster knotted their scores at one with Joseph Winters and Derek Rowe each scored second half goals.
South Webster coach Corey Claxon said the result was no surprise.
“It seems like every year we end up in a tough game when we play at Valley,” Claxon said. “We had many chances tonight, but we lacked the ability to put the ball into the back of the net.”
Winters’ goal was unassisted while Rowe’s was assisted by Andrew Salisbury.
