Ollie Conn, Sr. 88
Ollie Conn, Sr. age 88, of Wheelersburg, died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012, at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth. He was born July 31, 1924, in Wayne County, W.V a.to the late Roscoe and Sarah Jane Deskins Conn. He was a WWII Army veteran, he was a retired member of the Laborers Local 83 where he served as a Superintendent of Armco Steel, and a member of Garden City Freewill Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline Castle Conn, whom he married Aug. 27, 1942, at Inez, Ky., three sons, Joe (Susan) Conn, Ollie (Tracy) Conn, Jr. and Larry (Judy) Conn, one daughter, Kathy Conn, three sisters, Joann Carrillo, Christine Haddad and Mary Lou Adkins, nine Grandchildren, Chris (Terri) Conn, Andrew (Amy) Conn, Amy Conn Rase, Michelle (Ramone) Barcelona, Emilee (Dan) Weakly, Lindsey Conn, Shannon Bender, Whitney Bell Yates, Megan Bell, fourteen Great-Grandchildren, Bryce and Rylie Conn, Alyssa and Andrew Conn, Cassidy, Cayley, Chloe Rase, Angelo and Isabella Bracelona, Cooper, Carson and Cade Weakly, Jessica and Ty Bender.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Greg Conn, five brothers, Henry, Ira, Everett, Lesley, and Willie Conn, and three sisters, Ouie Marie Steele, Mae Copley, and Macel Sabo.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home with Pastor Blain Etterling officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and one hour before the services on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to SOMC Hospice.
Sorry to hear of the loss of your father. I am still living in Florida or would have been there to express my condolences.
