A teacher at Marshall University in Huntington, W.Va., has been arrested in the rape of his juvenile stepdaughter. William M. Morrison, 37, of 140 Private Drive 2482 County Road 1 in South Point, who, along with his attorney, Chris Delawder, turned himself into detectives, will be arraigned Friday in Lawrence County Municipal Court.

According to Lawrence County Sheriff Jeffery Lawless, on Sunday, his office responded to a call at the County Road 1 address. A female juvenile alleged that she was raped by her stepfather, William Morrison. The investigation, according to Lawrence County authorities, revealed that after the alleged rape, the juvenile contacted her biological father who came to the residence, and when the biological father arrived at the residence, the alleged suspect fled the scene in a vehicle.

On Tuesday a felony rape warrant was obtained from Lawrence County Municipal Court in Chesapeake, Ohio, and detectives attempted to locate Morrison. That same day, Morrison was taken into custody at the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office when he turned himself into detectives.
