Wanda Irvin Betsacon
Wanda Irvin Betsacon, 79, of McDermott passed away Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, at SOMC Hospice. Wanda had been ill for the past three years. She had lived in Columbus before becoming ill at which time she began making her home with her brother, Ronald E. Cox and sister Betty J. Cox.
Wanda was born May 17, 1933, the daughter of the late Doris Jordan Cox and stepdaughter of Eugene Cox.
She was married to the late James Nick Betsacon and together they owned and operated a restaurant in Columbus, Ohio for many years. Wanda was a 1951 McDermott High School graduate. She was a member of the former Church of Christ, Maple and Eastview, West Portsmouth, Ohio.
She is survived by her brother Ronald Cox of McDermott; two sisters Betty J. Cox and Janet Cox Pertuset, all of McDermott; one aunt Joanne Jordan Murphy of McDermott; and several nieces, nephews, grandchildren and many cousins.
Graveside services will be conducted 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012, in Rushtown Cemetery with Al Owens officiating. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville.
