Wastren Advantage, Inc. (WAI) of Piketon, has been named one of the nation’s fastest growing companies by Inc. Magazine.
“This is the second time in five years that WAI has been ranked on the Inc. 500 list. As a thriving business in Southern Ohio we are very proud of our achievements. We are especially happy about being ranked second in the category of Environmental Services,” said Steve Moore President/CEO and owner of WAI in a released statement.
According to www.wastrenadvantage.com, WAI is, “an SBA-Certified 8(a) small disadvantaged business that provides focused solutions for managing the entire life cycle of hazardous and radioactive materials.”
WAI recently announced its acquisition of Geo-Tech Polymers, LLC., a Westerville, Ohio, based plastics recycling firm. WAI has announced they will expand Geo-Tech’s production at a facility in Waverly, Ohio, operated by Hadsell Chemical Processing near its Piketon headquarters.
According to released information “the expansion comes with the goal of significantly expand production and logistical capacity to better serve customers in the automotive, consumer products, packaging and other industries. The move will create 50 new jobs by adding at least two more production lines to the process in Southern Ohio’s Pike County which typically has the highest unemployment rate in the State.”
According to www.Inc.com, the 500|5000 list, “represents the most comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy—America’s independent entrepreneurs. Companies such as Microsoft, Zappos, Intuit, Jamba Juice, Zipcar, Clif Bar, Vizio, Oracle, and many other well-known names gained early exposure as members of the Inc. 500|5000.”
For companies to make the list, they have to have achieved a minimum of 770 percent in sales growth. According to released information, “companies on this year’s Inc. 500 employ more than 48,000 people and generated over 40,000 jobs in the past three years.”
