Betty Mullens, 87
Betty J. Mullens, 87, of Wheelersburg, died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012, at SOMC Hospice.
She was born Jan. 21, 1925, in Sciotoville; a daughter of the late Luther Bowling and Lima Griffin Bowling. She was formerly employed by Kresge’s and Williams Manufacturing Company. She was married to Charles R. “Bud” Mullens, who preceded her in death in 1997.
She is survived by her son, Dale Mullens and wife Marty, of South Shore; two granddaughters, Dana Compton and Crystal Jacks, both of Sciotoville; three great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Sandy Bowling, of Tucson, Arizona.
She was also preceded in death by her great-granddaughter, Amber Williams; a son, Dan Leadingham; four sisters, Thelma King, Marjory Martin, Carolyn Daugherty, Gloria Stiltner; and three brothers, Ralph, Kenny and Paul Bowling.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012, at the Swick-Bussa-Chamberlin Funeral Home in Wheelersburg, with John Baker officiating, with interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Funeral Home and one hour prior to the services.
