Earl Hunt, 81

Earl W. Hunt, 81 of South Shore, Ky., died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012, at Community Hospice in Ashland, Ky. He was born Aug. 12, 1931, in Greenup County, Ky.; a son of the late Ottie Hunt and Minnie Craycraft Hunt.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Covert Hunt.

He was a retired heavy equipment operator from Boone Coleman Construction Co. and was a member of Lloyd Community Baptist Church.

Surviving are two daughters; Donna (Jim) Thayer of Quincy, Ky. and Linda Cooper (JR Smith) of South Shore, and one son, David Hunt of Lloyd, Ky. Grandchildren: Melissa (Jamie) Holbrook, Jimmie (Shawn) Thayer, Jason (Amy) Thayer, Kevin Cooper, Vicki (Marty) Moore and Brandi Hunt. Great-grandchildren; Ashley Nicole and Brady Holbrook. J.J., Chase and Kiersten Thayer. Ryan and Brennan Thayer and baby Alex on the way. Matthew Cooper. Jeremy, Jeffrey and Shaeleigh Moore. Two brothers; Milford Hunt of South Shore and Dave Hunt of South Shore, and one sister, Carrie Hunt of Jasper, Ohio.

He was also preceded in death by brothers, Homer, Reuben and Wade Hunt and sisters, Leona Riley and Marlene Lucas.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday Aug. 18, 2012, at Morton Funeral Home in South Shore, Ky. with Steve Luster officiating. Burial will be in Collier Memorial Gardens in South Portsmouth, Ky. Visitation will be Friday from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday from 11am until the time of services.
