Edward Silvia, Sr., 68
Edward Lee “Fast Eddie” Silvia, Sr., 68, of Minford, passed away Aug. 12, 2012, at a Columbus hospital. He was born Aug. 22, 1943, in Portsmouth, a son of the late Wilbur W. and Emma Jean Bazler Silvia.
Eddie was of the Pentecostal faith and he was a Vietnam Era Army veteran. He was a bartender at the James Dickey Post American Legion, where he was also a former post commander and member of the Honor Detail.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy Clare Johnson Silvia; two sons, Edward Silvia, Jr., and Wilbur Curtis Silvia; three daughters, Teresa Silvia, Angela Silvia and Susan Mick; a stepson, Johnathan Fisher; four stepdaughters, Jamie Brafford, Rebecca Fisher, Leah Fisher and Kimberly Perkins; 21 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Ralph F. Scott Funeral Home in Portsmouth with Rev. Jeff Leslie officiating and interment in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
The James Dickey Post Honor Detail will conduct military graveside rites.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 6-8 and Thursday from 10-11.
