A motorcycle crash over the weekend has claimed the life of a man from South Point.

According to the Ironton Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, motorcyclist Paul Watters, 56, of South Point, was traveling west on County Road 1 in front of Chesapeake High School at about 3 p.m. on Saturday. He reportedly swerved to avoid traffic stopped ahead, lost control and drove off the right-side of the road and overturned. He was ejected from the motorcycle, and was not wearing a safety helmet.

He was pronounced dead on Sunday by the Cabell County Coroner.

The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
