Raymond H. Shover, 92
Raymond H. Shover, age 92, passed away Friday, August 10, 2012, in Cleveland. He was born January 10, 1920 in New Boston, and had lived in Friendship before moving to Cleveland Heights 55 years ago.
Mr. Shover worked in shipping and receiving at Cleveland Ignition for 20 years, retiring in 1982. He had previously been employed by AFCO Sales Company. Mr. Shover was a decorated Veteran of World War II and was a member of the Disabled Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. Survivors are his wife, Laveria (nee Jordan); children, Julia (Sam) Lees of New Carlisle, Edward, Sandra (Ken) Tibbs of Mentor, Jim Mitchell of Columbus and Jeffery of Cleveland Heights; nine grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; sister, Burnice Koogler of West Carrollton; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Shover was preceded in death by his parents and nine brothers and sisters. Rev. David J. Ernat of Grace Lutheran Church in Cleveland Heights will officiate the funeral service at the Schulte & Mahon-Murphy Funeral Home, 5252 Mayfield Rd., Lyndhurst (between Richmond and Brainard) on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 7 p.m. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until time of service.
