Robert Myers, 87

Robert Dee Myers, age 87, of Wheelersburg, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012, at VV Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. He was born Feb. 2, 1925, in Portsmouth, to the late Floyd Elvie Myers and Nancy Madden Myers.

He was an U.S. Army WWII Veteran, a retired printer for Standard register, a member of DAV, a member of VFW 3638, a member of Peerless 10, a member of James Dickey American Legion Post and also on served on their funeral detail for many years.

He was proceeded in death by his wife, Ruth Louise Riddlebarger Myers whom he married April 6, 1946, in Wheelersburg. He is survived by two sons, Robert (Joyce) Myers Jr. of Conyers, GA, Larry (Deborah) Myers of Wylie, TX, two daughters, Nancy (Ralph) Bedinghaus of Cincinnati, Mary (Perry) Groves of Troy, one brother, Stanley Myers of Beaver Creek, a special friend, Suzan Frazier, ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and one great great grand child.

He was also preceded in death by four sisters, Mildred Hatton, Hazel Reese, Peg Pyle and Francis Crawley.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, Aug. 13, 2012 at noon at the Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home with pastor Keith DeRouen. Burial will be in Old Wheelersburg Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home 10 a.m. to noon on Monday. There will be Military Graveside services conducted by James Dickey Post American Legion Post 23.
