Ruth McClaskey, 75

Ruth A. McClaskey, 75, of Bainbridge, Ohio, formerly of the Portsmouth area, died 6:15 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012, at Edgewood Manor, Greenfield. She was born Oct. 30, 1936, in Portsmouth; the daughter of the late Carl and Katherine Isham Shaw.

She is survived by her children, Kathy (Doug) Bishop of Minford, Orville (Bethany) McClaskey of Bainbridge and Sheila (Rodney) Jaso of California; eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren, three step grandchildren; and a brother, Carl David Shaw of South Webster.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by a sister, Alvadean Shaw and a brother, Russell Eugene Shaw.

Ruth was a member of the Pactolus Methodist Church, Grayson, Ky., and she enjoyed volunteering at the Paint Valley Ministries, Bainbridge when she was able and she dearly loved the people.

A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, in the Bainbridge Cemetery with Pastor Tom Riffe officiating. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. at the SMITH-MOORE-EBRIGHT Funeral Home of Bainbridge.
