Mary Breech, 85
Mary L. Breech, age 85, of Pleasant Hill Rd., McDermott, Ohio, died 11:27 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012, at Heartland of Portsmouth. She was born May 4, 1927, in Pike County, Ohio, a daughter of the late Leo and Sarah Taylor Mummert. On May 17, 1943, she was united in marriage to Albert Verla Breech who preceded her in death Jan. 20, 2000. She is survived by four sons, Albert Breech and wife Brenda of Lucasville, Ohio, Russell Breech and wife Markeeta of Lucasville, Ohio, Bob Breech and wife Barb of McDermott, Ohio, and Terry Breech and wife Janet of South Shore, Ky., three daughters, Sarah Throckmorton and husband Ronald of Lucasville, Mary Davis and husband Homer of McDermott, Ohio, and Martha Campbell and husband Edward of McDermott, Ohio, 22 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren, one brother, Sonny Mummert and wife Robin of Ray, Ohio, two sisters, Linda Huffman of Otway, Ohio, and Katherine Cassata of Plant City, Fla., and many special friends. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Regina Stultz, one great grandson, Austin Rhoden, eight brothers, Harold Mummert, Leo Mummert Jr., Edward Mummert, Eugene Mummert, Ronald Mummert, Bill and Tony Miller, and Floyd Rose, and one sister, Jessie Begley. She was a member of the McCullough Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years, was an RSVP volunteer, and was a wonderful wife, loving mother, gentle grandmother, and the glue that held the family together.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the McCullough Baptist Church with Pastors Robert L. Davis and Albert Breech officiating. Burial will follow in Garvin Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday at the Botkin Funeral Home in Otway, and from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
