Challas Tackett, 81

Challas Tackett, 81 of Eden Park died Sunday, July 29, 2012, at his residence. He was born Aug.13, 1930, in Portsmouth a son of the late Elzie and Alta Reed Tackett. He was a former employee of Empire Detroit Steel Corp. He is survived by a son, Challas Dean Tackett and wife Beth; grandchildren, Challas Dean Tackett II and wife Lindsay, Chad Douglas Tackett, Sarah Elizabeth Tackett, Cody Duncan Tackett and William Matthew Piquet and wife Brook; great grandchildren, Caleb Daniel Tackett, Harper Piquet and Hunter Piquet. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Tackett and a daughter, Denise Piquet. There will be a cremation with no visitation. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012, at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements being handled by D.W. Swick Funeral Home in New Boston. Condolences to dwswickfuneralhome.com.
