Linda was a stewardess in the US Air Force and in the Naval Reserve, and was a member of the Sciotoville Christian Church. For over 20 years, as Linda Shumway, she was the postmistress for the Wheelersburg Post Office. Linda was a loyal member of the James Dickey Post burial detail.
Surviving are two daughters, Malissa (Eddie) Houseworth of Lucasville and Stacey Shumway Rollins and her husband, Mark Rollins, brothers Herb (Ushi) Cole of Manassass, Va. and Rob (Jan) Cole of Spotsylvania, Va., sisters, Burness Cole Adams of South Webster and Mary Ann (Keith) Nickells of Sciotoville, three grandchildren, Joshua (Crystal) Shumway, Ciara (Chris) Elswick and Vincente Glynn, and a precious great-grandson, Colton Shumway.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE with Pastor Chad Garinger officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date with military honors by the James Dickey Post of the American Legion.
