A Scioto County woman has been life-flighted to Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, W.Va., following a single-car crash Thursday afternoon.

An Ohio State Highway Patrol Portsmouth Post spokesman, Trooper Michael Ervin, said Deborah L. Fouch, 55, of Minford lost control of her car on U.S. 23, just south of the Portsmouth Post headquarters, going off the left side of the roadway and overturning on the median.

The southbound lane of U.S. 23 was backed up for several miles and was closed for a period of time while the crash site was cleaned up.

Charles Shoemaker of Cabell Huntington Hospital said Fouch was still under evaluation Thursday afternoon.
