Gertrude Francis, 93

Gertrude Francis, 93, of Otway, died Tuesday July 3, 2012 at Hillside Nursing Home in Peebles, Ohio. She was born November 8,1918, the daughter of the late Alan and Tennessee Woods. Gertrude was preceded in death by her first husband James Begley, her second husband Dewey Francis, and also two sons Seldon Begley and Emmitt Begley. Surviving are her children Deborah Schultz of Minford, Ralph Begley of Otway, Yvonne Wear of Peebles, Lillian Myers of Frankfort, Ky. Horace Begley of Peebles, Juanita McClanhan of Peebles, Mary Lou Bowen of Portsmouth, Robert Francis of Phenix City, Alabama, a step-daughter Edna Francis of Peebles and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great- great grandchildren. She was one of twelve brother and sisters. Gertrude loved gardening and canning. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday July 6, 2012 at Melcher Funeral Home. Burial will be at Moores Memorial Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call at Melcher Funeral Home 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday.
