Janet Smalley, 80

Janet Marie Smalley, 80, of McDermott, died Friday, June 29, 2012, at SOMC Hospice. She was born Nov. 17, 1931, in West Portsmouth, a daughter of the late George Franklin and Thelma May Culp Coburn, Sr.

She is survived by her husband Raymond Smalley who she married Dec. 23, 1986, in McDermott; one son Timothy Ray (Tabitha) Smalley of McDermott; one daughter Ruth Ann (Paul) Wallace of McDermott; one grandson Todd Edward (Tracy) Wallace; three step-grandchildren Sarah, Courtney, and Christian Smalley; two great-grandchildren Madison and Dawson Wallace; two brothers George “Pete” Coburn Jr. of McDermott, Clayton Coburn of McDermott; and one sister Ida Faye Guilkey of Columbus.

She was also preceded in death by her first husband Cecil Shope, March 28, 1984; one brother Edward Coburn; and one sister Dorothy Mullins.

Funeral services will be conducted at noon, Thursday, July 5. 2012, at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville with Rick Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Rushtown Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and for an hour before the funeral Thursday at the funeral home.
