Thomas William Cyrus Jr., 81, of Minford, died Thursday, June 21, 2012, at Concord Health & Rehabilitation Center in Wheelersburg.
He was born Feb. 20, 1931, in Huntington, W.Va., to the late Thomas William Cyrus Sr. and Freda Nutter Cyrus. He was the local owner of Valley Painting, and attended Rubyville Community Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Glenn Cyrus.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Spriggs Cyrus; four sons, Danny Cyrus of Minford, Tim (Lisa) Cyrus of Minford, Randy (Kim) Cyrus of Wheelersburg and Joe Cyrus of New Boston; one daughter, Jill (Greg) Thompson of Portsmouth; fourteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Dave (Wilma) Cyrus of Lucasville; three sisters, Freda (Tom) Morris of Bowie, Maryland, Gerri Cyrus of Pennsylvania, and Alice Kochenour of Columbus. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, June 25, 2012, at F.C. Daehler Mortuary Company in Portsmouth. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
