Nick Gampp, 64, of Sciotoville, died Saturday, May 26, 2012, at his home surrounded by his family. Born on May 2, 1948, in Portsmouth, he was a son of the late Richard and Hilda Deemer Gampp, was an Art and History professor at Shawnee State University and a member of Sunshine Church of Christ in Minford. Nick was a florist, local artist featured in Tri-State Living, and active in the Southern Ohio Museum and Cultural Center and area garden clubs. He was a 1966 graduate of East High School, graduated from Shawnee State University with a degree in fine arts, and received his master of fine arts from the Ohio University in Athens. Surviving are his wife, Anna Lemon Gampp; a son, Timothy (Jennifer) Gampp of South Webster; a daughter, Sarah (David) Rice of Sciotoville; two sisters, Pam Gampp of Sciotoville and Linda (Bob) Ankrom of Wheelersburg; and three grandchildren, Katie Rice, Collin Rice and Zoe Gampp. A Celebration of Life will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at Sunshine Church of Christ with Steve Miller officiating. Interment will be in Batterson Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the BRANT FUNERAL HOME IN SCIOTOVILLE from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday and at the church one hour prior to the service.
