The OHSAA announced Sunday the pairings for this weekend’s opening round of the 2013 football postseason as four area teams will play in Week 11.
Friday night will feature a pair of teams in Division VI, Region 21 quarterfinals. SOC II champion Valley — with its win at Minford, a Columbus Bishop Ready loss and a Chesapeake win over Rock Hill — claimed the top seed in the region and will host No. 8 Fort Frye. Meanwhile, SOC I champion Oak Hill secured the No. 7 seed after last week’s home win over Green and will face the previously-mentioned Silver Knights at Upper Arlington High School.
A pair of local teams will take the stage Saturday night in different divisions. In Division V, Region 17, No. 3 Wheelersburg will entertain No. 6 Fairland. Meanwhile, Notre Dame has the No. 7 seed in Division VII, Region 26 and will travel to No. 2 Covington.
All Friday night contests will have a 7:30 p.m. kickoff. Saturday night games are slated to begin at 7 p.m. Continue to read The Daily Times and portsmouth-dailytimes.com throughout the week for updates leading to this weekend’s games.
