Arrest made after heroin found behind taillight

Heroin with a street value of $45,000 has been confiscated and a Detroit woman arrested following a traffic stop. Evelyn M. Robinson, 44, is charged with possession of heroin and trafficking in heroin, both first degree felonies.

Saturday around 2:58 a.m., troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, said they stopped an east bound vehicle for a moving violation on U.S. 52 near Ironton. A canine unit from the Huntington, W.Va. Police Department was called in to perform a vehicle sniff.

Troopers said a search of the vehicle revealed over half a pound of heroin concealed behind the tail light. The heroin seized had a street value of approximately $45,000.

Robinson was incarcerated in the Lawrence County Jail.
