Guns continue to be a favorite target of thieves and one residence was hit Wednesday for seven of them, as well as several other items. An entry on White Gravel Road in Minford netted thieves a Mossberg 500 410 shotgun valued at $250; a Charter Arms .357 stainless steel revolver valued at $400; a Marlin .44 caliber lever-action rifle valued at $400; a remington Wingmaster 12-gauge shotgun valued at $400; a Browning 30-06 lever-action rifle valued at $1,000; a antique Remington 12-gauge shotgun valued at $800 and a Henry .22 caliber lever-action rifle valued at $300.

In addition to the guns, they were able to get away with a Sony laptop computer valued at $800; a Kindle valued at $100; a Canon still camera valued at $300; a Nintendo 64 game system valued at $100; an Ipod valued at $150; assorted jewelry valued at $150; Minford class rings valued at $600; $150 in assorted change; assorted video games valued at $250 and video game controllers valued at $200.

Area law enforcement agencies warn people who buy items such as those taken in that entry run the risk of purchasing stolen merchandise, which will eventually be taken for evidence in legal action.
