Antonios Kasimatis, Lieutenant General, Chief of Staff and Chief Psychiatrist of the Medical Department of the National Police of Greece, will be speaking on violence-related personality disorders at Shawnee State University at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 25 in the University Center’s East Sodexo Ballroom.
Kasimatis will discuss the many environmental, genetic, and developmental factors that contribute to the eruption of violence.
He will also discuss the impossible task of mental health experts to predict such behavior and to prevent its lethal consequences. His fields of expertise include psychiatry, psychotherapy and medicine.
The lecture is presented as part of the 2013-14 Jane M.G. Foster Distinguished Lecture Series. It is free of charge and the public is invited.
