A Portsmouth woman has been cited for driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to control a motor vehicle following a crash in the 1900 block of Grant Street Sunday. According to Portsmouth police an SUV operated by Casie Spradlin struck two parked cars and ended up turned over on its side.
Officers said when they got there they noticed the odor of alcohol on Spradlin’s person, and she reportedly told them she had drank four beers prior to driving. Spradlin also reportedly told them she was texting at the time of the crash.
A witness told police they viewed the black SUV strike two parked cars.
She was treated at the scene by EMT’s from Portsmouth Ambulance, who then transported her to Southern Ohio Medical Center, complaining of back and shoulder pain.
Spradlin was issued a citation for the two charges.
