The Scioto County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of pills from Country Living Assisted Living, 13028 U.S. 52 in West Portsmouth.
According to a Sheriff’s Office report, an employee of the facility said she had signed for two 30-count supplies of Hydrocodone that had been delivered by Gahm’s Pharmacy in West Portsmouth, on Wednesday, Aug. 14 for one of the residents, a 37-year-old man.
The employee said since she didn’t have a key needed to place the pills in a secured filing cabinet, she had placed them in an unsecured filing cabinet, located in a room behind the front desk. She said some time between when the prescription arrived on Wednesday, and on Friday, they had come up missing.
No other details are available at this time, but detectives are continuing their investigation of the missing pills.
