The Portsmouth Police Department with the assistance of the New Boston Police Department arrested seven women and one man as they conducted another operation to combat the sex for hire trade in the city of Portsmouth Thursday.
Portsmouth Police Chief Robert Ware said his officers arrested seven females who agreed to engage in sexual activity with an agent of the Portsmouth Police Department for money. Additionally, officers arrested one male, who also solicited sexual activity for money from a female agent of the Portsmouth Police Department.
Booked and taken to the Scioto County Jail were Amber Mingus, 26, of Wheelersburg; Chrissy Parsons, 30; Susan Ogier, 23; Christie Stapleton, 24; Diane Keller, 48; Yolanda Salem, 34 and Deanna Hurt, 30, all of Portsmouth, in addition to Danny Glispie, 63, of South Shore, Ky. Glispie’s vehicle was impounded. All eight were charged with solicitation.
Ware said the Portsmouth Police officers who worked on that detail were paid out of a grant the department received and continues to use to combat the problem as well as other continuing endeavors Ware says will make the community a safer place.
“The Portsmouth Police Department wishes to thank the New Boston Police Department and (Scioto County) Sheriff Marty Donini for their assistance and for the use of equipment that led to the success of the operation,” Ware said.
