A car-motorcycle crash in West Portsmouth has claimed the life of the driver of the motorcycle. Martha Holster, 64, of Sanford, N.C., died of her injuries at a West Virginia Hospital Monday.
According to Lieutenant M.R. Gore, Commander of the Portsmouth Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at around 1:30 p.m. Sunday. Holster, riding a 2009 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, was southbound of Ohio 73. At the same time, Delores Hall, 74, of New Boston, operator of a 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier, was northbound on the same road, when reportedly Hall failed to yield before turning left onto Calvert’s Lane and struck the motorcycle.
Washington Township EMS treated both victims at the scene before Holster was flown to Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington. Cabell Huntington reported Holster died around 3:06 a.m. Monday.
Hall was transported by the Washington Township Squad to Southern Ohio Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
