For 29 years, Kathy Fish has been a fixture at American Savings Bank. Now, she will be seen a little less often. President, CEO and Chairman of ASB, Robert M. Smith, announced Wednesday that M. Kathryn Fish, Branch Manager of the Portsmouth (Main Office) branch of American Savings Bank, fsb (ASB) has announced her retirement effective May 31, 2013.
“Decades of ASB customers and their families have trusted ASB with their finances due to the trust they have in Kathy,” Smith said. “We are thrilled that she will be continuing to work one day a week after her retirement. We wish her all the best as she enters retirement.”
Smith said, during Fish’s tenure the operational aspect of banking has changed with technology, but the fundamentals are the same as when the bank opened in 1892 – to help friends and neighbors with their finances.
“We have greatly appreciated Kathy’s efforts over the past 29 years,” Smith said. “She has been a dedicated employee, serving the deposit needs of the community and ensuring excellent banking services.”
Earlier in the week, ASB President Mike Gampp announced he has chosen to resign that position, but will continue through the end of the year in a consulting position.
