Greenup County Students participate in 4-H event

Twenty students from Greenup County area schools participated in the District 4-H Communications Day held on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Louisa Middle School in Louisa, Ky. Those participating had placed first or second in their demonstration categories at the Greenup County competition held in March.

Those placing first place in each category at the May 11 competition will now move on to State 4-H Communications Day to be held on Saturday, July 13 in Lexington. If first place (Grand) winners cannot attend the July 13 competition, then second place (Reserve) winners will advance to the July 13 competition in Lexington.

Those Grand Champions advancing to the State competition from Greenup County are:

Horticulture: David Potter

Performing Arts: Katie Adkins

Safety: Kolby Hunt

Science, Engineering & Technology: Parker Hollon

Shooting Sports: Zeb Bame
