The family of a severely ill child will benefit from the proceeds of a motorcycle run Sunday, June 9 at Spartan Municipal Stadium in Portsmouth. Kindness for Katelynn was a big success last year and organizers are hoping for an even larger turnout this year.

Six-year-old Katelynn suffers from a genetic disorder, but doctors are puzzled as to what that disorder is. She suffers from Chronic Lung Disease which requires a trachea and ventilator to help her breathe. She also suffers from polycistic kidney disease, which has caused her kidneys to shut down, meaning she has to undergo dialysis to keep her alive. Since last year’s benefit, Katelynn has been through a tough year. But those closest to her also say she is a tough little girl who melts the hearts of everyone who meets her.

Registration begins at 11 a.m., the ride starts at 1 p.m., and will last until 4 p.m. Single riders $10, and couples $15. There will be door prizes for sale, along with split the pot, food and drinks. All proceeds will benefit Katelynn to help with transportation, medical expenses and other care required.

Information is available on Facebook under the name Amber Timberlake. Those wishing to keep up to date with Katelynn, can do so on her Facebook page Kindness For Katelynn.
