A Portsmouth woman has been arrested on prostitution charges.

Portsmouth police officers working plain clothes detail last Wednesday said they observed Carol M. King, 32, listed as homeless, loitering in a high prostitution area, the 800 block of Murray Street. King reportedly approached the officer’s car and engaged him in a conversation. The officer reportedly asked if she was “partying.” She then reportedly asked him if he had a hotel room.

It was then that the officer reportedly told her he had money, and she offered sexual favors in exchange for the money.

King was arrested and placed in the Scioto County Jail.
