Aehs celebrate 50th wedding anniversary

Roy H. and Jo Ann Gee Aeh will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on March 16, 2013. Roy and Jo Ann were married on March 16, 1963, at the Sciotoville Methodist Church. Roy is the eldest son of the late Leonard H. Aeh and Garnet Fosnaugh Rochon.

Jo Ann is the elder daughter of the late Morton (Shorty) and Nolene Gee. Roy served in the Air Force during the Korean War and has been a member of Post 23 of the American Legion for 59 continuous years. He owned and operated Port Marina Boat Sales on Second Street during the 50’s and 60’s.

He retired in 2000 from SOCF, where he had been a teacher for more than 22 years. Jo Ann is a graduate of East High School and served as a member of City Council from August 1983 until December 1985. She retired Oct. 1, 2011, from the position of City Clerk, which she held for nearly 23 years. Roy and Jo Ann have one son, Mark of Portsmouth. The Aeh’s are planning on celebrating their anniversary by spending a quiet evening at home.
