McDermott Community of Christ

McDermott Community of Christ will have the theme “Become a Covenant People” on the second Sunday in Lent, Feb. 24, at the 10:45 a.m. worship service. Elder Sandy Cable will preside over the service, and the speaker will be Priest Wanda Joslin. Priest Rhonda Morkassel will be pianist for the service, and will also provide our ministry of music. Children’s ministry will be by Evelyn Blair. The church school service will precede the worship service at 9:30 a.m. Prayer service will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. with Deacon Mick Gillette presiding and Brenda Gillette bringing us the theme. A free lunch is served every Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church, and everyone in the community is invited.

Christ Brethren Church

Christ Brethren Church 5877 St. Rt, 139 will be holding services on Sunday, Feb. 24 starting with morning services at 9:30 a.m. Sunday evening service at 7 p.m. A Wednesday evening service will be held at 7 p.m. Everyone Welcome with Bob Davis Pastor.

Rev. Knisely visiting St. Paul’s Church

Rev. Nicholas Knisely, the Thirteenth Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Rhode Island will be visiting St. Paul’s Church, Portsmouth on Sunday, March 3rd, 2013. Bishop Knisely will be the celebrant and preacher at the 9:00 am service that morning. He was ordained bishop on November 17th, 2012, and this will be his first official visit to St. Paul’s. We invite all members of the parish, family, friends, and the community as a whole to this special event in the life of the church. There will be a reception and a conversation with the Bishop following the service. Everyone is welcomed to attend.
