Loretta Cunningham, 75
Loretta Mae Black Cunningham, 75, of Portsmouth went to be with her Heavenly Father on Jan. 1, 2013. She was born Dec. 1, 1937, to the late Frank and Britain Cooper. Loretta was a homemaker, and loving wife, mother and grandmother and also a long time member of Pond Run Baptist Church. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers; Wayne and Philip Cooper, and her first husband; Elbert D. Black.
Loretta is survived by her loving husband and friend; Ronald James Cunningham, two daughters; Pamela (Jeff) Hammonds of Minford, Jhonda (Ric) Gregory of Lucasville, three grandsons; Richard Lee (Monica) Strickland III of Flatwoods, Ky., John Duane (Nikki) Strickland of McDermott, and Cory Allen Gregory of Lucasville, three great grandchildren; Abigail Grace Strickland, Ian Bryce Strickland, Emma Mae Strickland who were three of the greatest joys of her life, two brothers; Paul Cooper of Clyde Ohio, Gerald Cooper of Portsmouth, two sisters; Carolyn Newman of Waverly, and Wanda Adams of Rhode Island.
Funeral Services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Jeremiah Lewis officiating and interment in Moore’s Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to SOMC Hospice in Loretta’s name.
