An industrial accident has sent a man to a Columbus hospital. According to the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office, Shane Conley, believed to be age 45, was working at Tow Path Ready Mix, located at 12360 Ohio 104 in Lucasville, Thursday morning when he reportedly caught his hand in a conveyor belt, causing heavy injury to his arm.

Details out of the Sheriff’s Office were sketchy on Thursday, but Capt. Shawn Sparks said Conley was flown by MedFlight 3 helicopter to Riverside Hospital in Columbus. A Riverside Emergency Department spokeswoman said Thursday afternoon no condition was available because he was in surgery at the time.

Early calls into the Sheriff’s dispatch was that Conley had lost his arm in the accident, but details later were changed to a description of extreme injury to the arm.

A call to the management at Tow Path Ready Mix was not immediately returned Thursday.
